Pumpkin Bread

Pumpkin Bread

1 15 oz can pumpkin
4 eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
2/3 cup water
3 cups sugar
3 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp ginger

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 3 bread pans. Mix all ingredients together and pour into greased pans. Bake 50 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean. (Also makes 5 mini loaf pans and one regular size loaf)

I wrapped the load pans in wax paper and then cut strips of paper to pretty them up.

The larger strip was 3.5 inches wide and the skinnier one was 2.5 inches wide, both by 12 inches. I used paper from the Spooks line-which was perfect for the pumpkin bread-since it has little pumpkins on the paper. Ah, too cute!

Add a little label and you have a cute little neighbor/friend gift!

Thankful for You

Happy Thanksgiving! We hope you will have a wonderful day full of family & food. What are you thankful for? We are thankful for you. The blog wouldn't be the same without you. We appreciate all of your encouraging comments and e-mails.

Today we are featuring a few of Monika Wright's projects. Monika is a busy mom of three. She graciously thanked us for the products she won from one of our giveaways and even sent us images of what she created and here they are! Above is an album she made using the oasis collection. Below is a 2009 December Daily album and Santa's list envelope embellished with our Christmas Mint collection. Thank you, Monika!

We love to see your creations. Just send them to our e-mail at seiblog(at)shopsei(dot)com. We will feature some more reader's projects soon!

Fall Family Tree

Although the first official day of winter is not until December 21, in my mind fall is over after Thanksgiving or the end of November. So, I thought we should show you some of the beautiful autumn creations that have been submitted to us by our readers before it is too late. This one would be a lovely Thanksgiving decoration. It was submitted by Laurie Cinotto, a crafter and craft writer. She created this project, using the Moravia paper collection, for the wedding blog, The Bride's Cafe. For complete instructions follow this link or the link on her blog. Thanks for sharing, Laurie!

A spooktacular event

Did you know that Halloween is only 23 days away? We're all getting excited and ready to throw some parties around here and thought you might be too. Halloween is mine and Michelle's favorite holiday so I went a little crazy and made a bunch of click and prints for you guys! Hopefully this little party we had will kick start some great plans for your holiday.

Pictured below from left to right: Invitations, bottle wraps, blank signs & mini bubble wraps.
The invitations used Hoo's There and Eerie alley ribbons. Simply print and trim your invites, then cut your paper 10 1/2" by 4 1/4"(or 4" if you want to get 3 out of a sheet) and fold in half. Adhere your filled out invite to the inside and tie with ribbon! Easy, right?

For the signs I printed and trimmed them and then folded in half. Then, I adhered to the skewer using double sided tape (my sticky weapon of choice) and cut a wide triangle on the end. Now your guests will know what's what.

I found the mini bubbles in the wedding section of the dollar store. 9 for one dollar! A cute and entertaining gift for your pint size wizards and witches.
The cupcake toppers were so easy! I just opened a package of die cuts and glue dotted them onto toothpicks. Instantly creepy.

For finishing touches, I used the Windsor ribbons, which gave it a little more sophisticated touch. (And they're half off right now!) The treat bags were tied with silver and the candy jar got wrapped in silver as well.

Just click the images below to download. Print and customize as many as you want! Then take pictures so we can see how you put them to good use. Have fun!

Maria's Thanksgiving Memories

It's November! And that means Thanksgiving is just creeping up on us. Traditions make the holidays fun. Growing up Thanksgiving was a big deal at our house. My mom always got out the nice dishes and made a beautiful centerpiece. At each place setting she would put a sugar cone filled with treats. Before we ate, we would go around the table and each tell something we were thankful for. I thought I would adapt this tradition for my own family.

I made these simple origami cups out of our elegant Windsor papers and dimensional elements. They look so classy and would work great for Christmas too. The best part is they each took less than 5 minutes to make and require no adhesive! It might be fun to put a little thank you note in each one or instead of the dimensional element put a monogram sticker.

All you need to start is:
  • paper cut into 6 x 6 squares (the shimmer is easiest to fold)
  • dimensional elements
  • treats or notes to put inside
You can click on the template below to enlarge and print it. Hope you enjoy this simple project as much as I did.
