April Sketch Challenge + Winner

Thanks to everyone who linked to the link party last month! Remember, this is a monthly tradition. At the end of the month, you can link any project you create that includes an SEI product. Sometimes there is a giveaway too. This is also the perfect time to share the layout you create for our sketch challenge.

Are you ready for another challenge? Julie created this layout sketch for our April challenge. So, to participate in this month's challenge, simply design a layout based on this sketch. Be sure to use at least one SEI product and link up at the end of the month.

This lovely layout is the one Julie based her sketch off. The 10.75 x 6 inch photo has a big impact, but you could also use the same grid with multiple photos in this spot.

Ready for the winner of our link party giveaway? As usual, we used random.org's random integer generator to pick... number 6!

Congratulations, Ann Jobes! Now just send us your e-mail to seiblog{at}shopsei{dot}com and we will get you your gift card.

This is the layout Julie based the sketch off of, using the Corinne collection. Notice that she mimicked the horizon line in the photo with the white space on top. The circles at the top resemble clouds. We love how well thought-out Julie's layouts are.

The winner of the February Challenge giveaway, as selected by random.org is... CAUGHT IN THE LINT TRAP. Congratulations! Please send us your full name and e-mail address to seiblog{at}shopsei{dot}com.

Our Last Challenge for Now

Thanks everyone who participated in our 3-dimensional project challenge last month.

First up we have Sandy Ang's ribbon organizer. What a pretty box! Isn't this a great way to keep ribbons from getting wrinkled and tangled?

Sandy also made this mini house. You have got to hop over to her blog and see the amazing details on this!

Next up we have Jessica Moyer's accordian album. We love how bright and happy it is. The glitter border & rhinestone accents add the perfect amount of sparkle.

Along with all of the exciting changes on the blog, we are going to be starting a new tradition that will make it easier for you to share all of those SEI paper-crafting projects you are working on. So, although we will not have anymore challenges for now, stay tuned. We will have more details on how you can show off your awesome creations.

Thanks again to everyone who participated in all of our challenges! Be sure to check back next week because we are having an exciting week full of projects and a giveaway. Happy weekend!

Challenge #3 - Scraps & Stitches

There are so many amazing papers and embellishments available today. Sometimes it is hard to know where to start, especially if you are on a limited budget. So, why not turn your paper scraps & sewing supplies into dimensional embellishments?

We created this mini album by using Mandi's idea for making a Saint Patrick's Day pin and and layering flowers we cut out of Jocelyn's ROTFL paper. We used leftover scraps of paper from several different collections including - Jocelyn, Christmas Mint, Chick-a-doo, & Bridgeport and items that could be found in a sewing box, Chick-a-doo buttons & Bridgeport ribbons.

Our challenge for the month of March is to create a project or scrapbook layout using scraps of paper and items that could be found in a sewing box - buttons, thread, ribbons, fabric...

To participate in the challenge:
1. Create at least one project or scrapbook layout using paper scraps & things that could be found in a sewing box.
2. Use at least 1 SEI product.
3. Comment on this post stating what SEI product(s) you used.
4. Make a link in your comment to an image of your project or e-mail it to us at seiblog{at}shopsei{dot}com.
5. Do it by April 1st.

Thanks everyone who participated in February's challenge! It was a great success. You did a wonderful job interpreting the sketch in uniquely beautiful ways. We were very impressed with your creativity! Here are the layouts that caught our eye:

The first is a Chocolat layout by Alaina from her Glue Dots & Glitter blog. Stampin' Mindy used the Happy Day collection for her My Little Diva layout posted on her blog.

We love the way Pam used the Chick-a-doo collection on this layout she posted on her blog, Scrapbook Flair. Andrea used Kitty's Place for this layout on this blog.

Here's a beautiful Moravia layout from Scoobie's Lille Blog. Last, you can find this layout from our red linen box kit on the Attainable Treasures blog (P.S. it is a steal right now).

Good luck on the new challenge!
