Meet our friends- Playday!

Last year we came out with our baby lines chick-a-doo and chick-a-dee. We loved adding these cuties to our SEI family, but they needed friends. We decided a toddler line would be the perfect solution, and Playday was born:

Whimsical elephants, giraffes, little birds, and a momma kangaroo with baby all invite you for a play date. Creating layouts or making cards with this collection will create smiles. These papers and embellishments are perfect for boy or girl layouts.

Bridgeport- game, set, match

We are so ecstatic that our lines are being embraced by our audience. On the Tuesday, January 20th entry we were actually featured on Print & Pattern. It is one of our favorite blogs to see what trends and inspirations are orbiting the world.

Now for another yummy spring must-have, Bridgeport. Remember,
if you need to see a close up of the pictures being shown below, you can always click and enlarge them to appreciate the details.

This collection of spring papers captures the elegance of butterflies flying through a garden path lined with flowers. Imagine yourself spending a sunny spring day playing badminton or croquet in a grassy field. Share laughter with friends. Taste the sweet pucker of lemonade. Squint at the sun. Enjoy the shade under the trees. Clover green, bordeaux, turquoise and misty blue are the signature colors.

CHA Preview, seriously!

This last year we have been laboring our little fingers away to come up with some amazing lines. It's definitely been worth it and although our creative juices have been drained we are so satisfied with the fruits of our labors. We each have a different line that we like to call our baby and we're hoping that you will want to take them all home with you. What we'll be doing this week is featuring one new line everyday and telling you a little about it. Please, please please leave us your comments and feedback. We would love to hear what our lines do to your heart, whether it flatlines or pitter patters. Our first line that we're showing is actually here and ready to order, she is called... Lovebirds.

The sweetness of love is delivered especially for you. This collection is the key to expressing your love and friendship. Small lovebirds fly free among the flowers. Die cut lace paper is a delicate patterned overlay. Chocolate, forget-me-not blue, lilac and berry say “you are the key to my heart”.

Resolve to Preserve Your Memories!

This year I have high expectations for my resolutions. In addition to scheduling time to straighten-up the house each day I have also scheduled a time for seven different areas I am working on. I plan to spend one hour on a different area each day of the week.

The trickiest area is my family history. I want to have a written & visual history of my family. Right now this seems overwhelming to me since I am already behind. But I found a great solution to this problem... sei’s calendar!

With this calendar you can just start wherever you are in the new year and about go back later. You can hang your calendar in the kitchen or anywhere you will see it often and write in important things as they happen. No worrying trying to remember them later. There are also stickers to mark special occasions or things to remember, along with journaling stickers (great for a written record). The calendar already has 12 patterned pages (one for each month) with places for photos. It even includes basic instructions if you want to dress up each page with the coordinating stickers (great for a visual record). At the end of the year, you will have a completed album and a record of the year! The 12x12 pages fit perfectly into our preservation series album.

I gave my sister-in-law one of the calendars for Christmas a few years ago and she loved it. She has done one every year since and now has a great family history. So give it a try! There is no better time than the present, right? (that's why it's called the present!)

A moment of praise for...The King

Who can say that listening to one of Elvis's songs doesn't make their day a little better? Today is Elvis's birthday and we wanted to recognize the happiness that he brings into our lives with his melodies & oh so dreamy eyes. His music helps to put a hop in our step here in the art room. Pia, our art director, loves watching his movies for their good old fashioned cheese. Some movies that we recommend: Blue Hawaii, Girls, girls, girls & Viva Las Vegas. Happy Birthday King Elvis! Long live the King!

Feliz New Year

Happy New Year! With one year past and another one awaiting there is much to plan and reminisce about. So when I was in a high school I had a teacher, Mr. Martin, that taught me about goal making. He said the common phrase about a goal not being written down is merely a wish. He went on to teach us about how he would set a physical, mental and spiritual goal at the beginning of every new year. This way he wasn't overwhelmed with too many goals but he could also improve himself overall as a person.
With goal-setting for me I have to see my goals on a regular basis or else I'll forget what I'm working on. I took Mr. Martin's advice and made 3 tags with the different topics (physical, mental & spiritual). Behind each of the tags I wrote the specifics of what I was going to accomplish under each aspect. (I like to keep my resolutions a secret because my mom would always say that if you tell someone something that hasn't come true, you're jinxing yourself and they won't come true, haha.) After I made my little tags I had some magnets and applied an epoxy sticker to the face of them. I stuck them to my bathroom mirror so that I'm reminded everyday of what I'm trying to accomplish. Let me know what resolution tactics work for you! I love hearing your ideas.

-Dorthea

P.S. The paper and epoxy stickers I used for this project were from our Dill Blossom line. I love this line because it works great all year around.
